Life is a journey. I'm looking for an authentic sense of place, for authentic experiences of food, culture, history, nature. I hope that you find something here that's interesting and useful on your journey.

“After” the pandemic

Are we “over it”? No. It will be with us. It’s changed us, whether we like that or not. There are some strange illnesses out there. Many if us pay attention to health news and go “back” to distancing, masking and all that. I’ve always been careful about handwashing because it’s such an easy way to avoid the spread of germs. When there is an uptick in local cases of Covid, I return to the measures I used at the worst of it. Like almost everyone I know, I’ve had it. It was in October last year. I felt pretty miserable for about four days but it was not severe. Afterwards, I seemed much more susceptible to whatever was going around. Luckily, though, I seem mostly ok.

I returned to travel early last year and it was such a relief to get out…
